Photoshoot location for AW - 'The Dundonald' Culross, Fife.

The beautiful Dundonald Guest House in Culross, Fife was the location for the Photoshoot this season.

The last time I visited Culross it was for a girls weekend with 2 close friends. We passed The Dundonald and stood peering in the windows for a while in absolute awe of the perfection of the interiors. I knew from then on I would always want to create a collection photoshoot there.
I asked Laura who owns The Dundonald and she was more than happy to have us there. She even agreed to model with her daughter Taylor.
As always I asked Otago Street photographer Victoria to capture the day and her images were beautiful as always. We had a great day around the Village and the guesthouse.
If you have't visited or know about it, let me introduce you ...
Nestled in the picturesque village of Culross in Fife, Scotland, Dundonald Guest House offers a tranquil escape where history, comfort, and surroundings come together to create an unforgettable, relaxing experience.
Laura and Taylor, mother and daughter have created a space of perfection. Whether you're seeking a peaceful retreat, a romantic getaway, or a base to explore the local heritage, this charming guest house provides everything you need for a memorable stay.
The Historic Village of Culross
Culross (pronounced “Coo-riss”) is one of Scotland’s best-preserved 17th-century villages, with cobbled streets, whitewashed buildings, and striking historical landmarks. Walking through this village feels like stepping back in time, and it's no wonder the area has been featured in popular films and TV shows, including the hit series Outlander. From the grand Culross Palace, with its vibrant ochre walls and lush gardens, to the Mercat Cross that stands as a reminder of the village's trading history, there’s something enchanting about every corner.
A Warm Scottish Welcome
At the heart of this historical town lies Dundonald Guest House, where guests are welcomed with traditional Scottish hospitality and modern comforts. This cozy retreat is housed in a beautifully restored building that echoes the charm of Culross itself. The guest house offers a blend of period features and contemporary amenities, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay. Laura's eye for interiors is exceptional. Every painting, item of cutlery has been expertly put together to make you feel like you are in luxury with a real feeling of ease and comfort.
Each room at Dundonald Guest House is thoughtfully decorated to reflect the village’s character while providing modern conveniences such as Wi-Fi, ensuite bathrooms, and plush bedding. A view over the terracotta roof tiles of the old building to see the sea puts a smile on anyones face.
After a day of exploring, you can unwind in the peaceful garden or enjoy a quiet evening in the guest lounge.
Explore the Beauty of Fife
I first discovered Culross after a deep dive into the Scottish Witch trials. Culross has heaps of it's own stories and is just a short drive from Toryburn and the infamous story of Lilias Aidie. There is a trail that leads from Culross which is full of history.
Dundonald Guest House is perfectly situated for those who want to explore more of Fife's rich history and natural beauty. A short walk from the guest house brings you to the shores of the River Forth, offering breathtaking views and peaceful walking paths. The Fife Coastal Path, one of Scotland’s most scenic long-distance trails, is also nearby, providing opportunities for hiking and nature spotting along the stunning coastline.
For history enthusiasts, Culross is a treasure trove of medieval and early-modern heritage, but there are also plenty of attractions nearby, including Dunfermline Abbey, the ancient capital of Scotland, and Falkland Palace, another Outlander filming location.
Sustainable and Local
One of the highlights of staying at Dundonald Guest House is the commitment to supporting local businesses and promoting sustainable tourism. The guest house works with nearby farms and food producers to offer delicious, locally-sourced breakfasts featuring fresh ingredients from the region. From homemade jams to artisan bread, you'll start your day with a true taste of Scotland.
Additionally, the guest house's environmentally conscious practices ensure that guests can enjoy their stay knowing they are contributing to the preservation of the area's natural beauty.

Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or with family, Dundonald Guest House offers a range of room options to suit your needs. Couples will love the intimate, romantic setting, while families can enjoy larger rooms that cater to groups. Solo travellers can take advantage of the peaceful ambiance to relax and rejuvenate.
